Last year, Hollywood decided to ride a growing wave of thought that a catastrophic event is coming in 2012. In spite of the hype surrounding the movie and NASA trying to quell fears about impending doom, there remains an increasing number of people who believe that date will be a fateful one for mankind.

Not long ago some friends came to visit us. When I asked if they needed directions, they assured me they would be fine since they had a GPS unit in their car.
